Arts and Crafts
Arts and Crafts lessons are part of the curriculum starting from Grade 1. When selecting activities, teachers follow IPC (International Primary Curriculum) units to provide cross-curricular opportunities, while also aligning with the expectations of the Hungarian National Curriculum (NAT). Seasonal changes and important dates also serve as inspiration for student creations. Small class sizes allow teachers to give individual attention to every child.
In Grades 1–3, our goals are to build self-esteem and self-confidence, expand aesthetic awareness, begin the study of artistic heritage, discuss design ideas and techniques, explore a variety of materials to create artwork (e.g., acrylic, watercolor, clay), use personal experiences as themes in artistic expression, and encourage students to communicate emotions through their art.
Music
Music education plays a particularly important role in lower primary years. Following the International Primary Curriculum in music allows us to apply more holistic teaching methods and to emphasize the importance of personal learning goals.
In Grades 1 and 2, the focus is on rhythm patterns, pitch notation, families and types of instruments, as well as singing and playing music together. Our mission is to make music appealing to children and to encourage them to be open to different musical styles, intercultural influences, and traditional music.
Physical Education
During Physical Education classes, children engage in movement either in our school gymnasium or outside in the playground. Weekly swimming lessons are also part of the regular timetable, beginning in Grade 1. Students learn to swim or improve their swimming skills in small groups with qualified instructors.
